Bride and Groom stand together on a picturesque golf course

Wedding at The Venue at Old 30

The first time I “met” Mitch and Kelsey was via video chat. But I knew I liked them way before we even hopped on the call. Kelsey and I had been messaging back and forth to set the chat up. Through those texts I could already tell how amazing they both were. I mean they both love animals, having fun, and puns.

On the day of our video meet up, I set up my make shift office in our living room. I set my laptop on an end table, grabbed the collapsible step stool for my chair and made sure my plant shelf was my makeshift backdrop. Yay house renovations! As soon as Kelsey and Mitch joined the meeting, Kelsey’s sweet smile quickly put me at ease and I instantly felt a connection with them.

One of the questions I ask my couples is how they met. Every story is so unique and I always love hearing a good love story. Kelsey and Mitch met at their alma mater, Heidelberg College. They actually didn’t meet until their Senior year. They were neighbors in their dorm. Kelsey said she kept trying to say “hi” to Mitch in the hallways, but he kept his head down and earphones on–until one night he just showed up at their apartment and told them his life story. From that point on they became friends. I love that their relationship was gradual, that it built and expanded over time to become the love they share today.

Mitch and Kelsey, one of my questions to you had been, what advice would you give to other couples planning their wedding. You said “at the end of the day the end result is the same no matter what happens—you marry your favorite person”. Well, you did it and everything was absolutely amazing!! You were blessed with absolutely perfect weather–unheard of for the end of July in Ohio. You shared tears of joy with your loved ones, had fun dancing your hearts out with your best friends, and married your favorite person! I’m so glad that I not only got to meet you both, spend time with the two of you, but that I also got to capture one of the best days of your lives together!! I am so beyond happy and excited for you both!! I wish you both the very best and look forward to joining you for more wings at Madison Street!
