Engagement sessions are always sweet, but they’re even sweeter when they’re at an ice cream shop! Here’s the scoop, I met Kevin and Jenna at the Dietsch Brothers in Findlay, Ohio. Kevin used to work there, which is how the two met. We started off the session with some photos of the gift certificate that Kevin had given Jenna when they first met. We also sprinkled in some shots of Jenna’s beautiful engagement ring. The rest of the session was filled with lots of laughs and total cuteness. At the end of the session, Jenna decided to shake things up and surprised her Sister with a Maid of Honor proposal.
We’ve been together around 7 years, so we both assumed it was going in a good direction! There had been an ongoing joke that he hadn’t proposed yet from his family and mine. Also, we never really take pictures together and I had just a few stipulations for when the time came (family around, my nails done, some kind of pictures, etc.).
On April 25, 2021, I was a bit anxious all day like I could feel something was going to happen but I had no idea what. My sister Camilla was in town for work so her, Kevin and l went to dinner at Disney Springs. We finished dinner and walked around the property.
Little to my knowledge I had already denied one possible location as I said that was terrible lighting for a photo (oops)! Then there was a spot with a waterfall, no Disney presence around, and not too many people. My sister had ask someone close by to take a picture of the 3 of us, then she had Kevin and I get a picture because, you know, we never get pictures. Kevin then says to me, turn around and let’s take a picture to send to my mom like I’m fake proposing and you’re mad. Of course I agree, but once I turned back around, it was a real proposal!! There were people walking by cheering us on. Once we wrapped up to few facetimes and calls, we went to the M&M store and found champagne bottles filled with M&M’s to celebrate!
Kevin’s 1st response, “People quit asking me when we’re getting engaged!” Kevin’s second response, “Seeing how happy it makes you!”
Jenna’s response, “calling my best friend fiancé now! And having an exciting event to look forward to that builds our life together.”
Have fun while planning! I plan events for a living and they can be stressful, but this is all to celebrate you two so make sure to enjoy it.
